Outlook express issues

I have three e-mail addresses associated with outlook XP and when ever I hit the send and recieve tab, only one e-mail address and everything sent and recieved but for the other two, it just stalls and times out like 20 minutes later. Is there a way to fix this?

if you send and receive the other accounts sepretley do they work?

only sometimes, it's quite frustrating because it works only half the time. I don't understand why they can't all send and recieve. It's been like this for an hour and it's stuck at 33% (because the other 2 aren't done)
