I started looking at my bosses's computer with Outlook Express problems:
(1) It gives this error message whenever the Create Mail or Reply buttons are pressed:
"There was an error opening this message. An error has occurred."
(2) The address book is missing.
Outlook on the same computer works just fine for sending emails, but with Outlook Express installed, Outlook isn't accepting emails. And my boss refuses to switch to Outlook.
I looked online for that error message and most answers said to uninstall Outlook Express and Internet Explorer and then reinstall. So I tried to uninstall them. I go to add/remove programs and uncheck the programs. Windows shows a progress bar starting to move slowly then instantly it says it is done (well before the progress bar moves even 15% of the distance). The icons for the programs are gone, but the programs are still there in the Program Files directory and the programs still run. They simply won't uninstall fully.
If I try reinstalling the same way, the icons appear, but nothing else changes.
Any ideas?
