Outlook Express Freezes when message URL clicked

Outlook Express 5.0, Windows 2K. When I open a message in Outlook and try to click on an embedded message URL, the system freezes: What happens is the cursor arrow turns into a hand. I have to go into the Task Manager and stop Outlook from running. Have tried Microsoft support but can't seem to find an answer.

dont know what OS you have but if xp did you try this?

doesnt give too much info but I dont see how it could hurt

Support for OE 5 has disappeared. OE 6 really sux.
