Outlook Express DBX File Mayhem

Hello all....

Outlook Express v6.x. I accidentally deleted a folder along with some messages, and in one swoop....emptied the deleted items box like the idiot that I am.

I found a proggy that I *think* snagged the folder in question, but it was a trial version. I think the program is suppose to function once, but after that it 'times out' and requires payment. Not a bad way to try a program actually. The point is, It found a folder, but it did not have the "dbx" extension on it. I renamed it with the 'dbx' extension. I'm trying to recover the folder but not having any luck.

Not sure if the file needs repaired, or if I am just not jumping thru OE's hoops right so it can 'see' the folder.

Can someone point me to a proggy that can actually find this folder, or massage the one I have so OE can see it?

I know there's solme weird way to get OE to see those dbx files, and I did it once, but I cannot remember how I did it, nor can I find anything that has worked on the web.

Anyone have any ideas please?

Thanks. 🙂
