Outlook Express - Compacting Messages

All of a sudden, Outlook Express has started bugging me about compacting stored messages to save disk space. I don't need that - only have 20 messages stored in the SENT folder. How does one get OE to shut up about that?

Near as I can tell there's no way to stop it, other than declaring your surrender and doing as it wants. Then the message will go away.

There are numerous posts all over the web on this same question and no solution in sight, save dumping OE in favor of something else.

Thanks, Networkman. I suspected that would be the case. I only use OE for outbound maessages in HTML format with animated graphics and background music (MID). My default email program for all inbound and some out bound is Eudora Pro 7.x. It is much better for mail mainagement, but it can't embed music.

So - I guess I'll just surrender and let OE have its way - I only keep my last 30 days worth of outbounds on it. 🙂
