A friend of mine has to use Outlook Express as a newsgroup reader. He is using Windows XP. Is there a way to get the app to join multipart files instead of having to do it himself?

Thanks

Yes...download forte agent :). The only way I know using outlook is to do the shift click and combine and decode to put together files. With the new format coming out you might as well get agent since outlook has no support for it yet.

I still use OE because I like it FAR better than Agent, which I regard as very unwieldy and clumsy (in all fairness I have not used it extensively, as I quickly uninstalled it due to my difficulty working with it). I believe the "new format" that Antisocial is referring to is yEnc, which I regularly use with OE. You just have to set up a yEnc proxy with the freeware program Yproxy, which is very easy and requires no effort on the part of the user once it is installed.

Truth be told, I use OE for just text newsgroups but for binaries I use Agent. Its a good combination. I knew about the proxy for yEnc but since its mainly a concern in binaries I never bothered with it. It seems like yEnc is actually not catching on that fast at the moment anyways.
