Outlook Express: Adds all incoming addresses to my addr book !

How do i turn off this setting
ALL incoming mail addresses are added to my addresses
so it gets cluttered w/ spam senders, etc
i gotta purge it out every month, as it gets unruly.

How do I turn of this setting?
I only want to have to explicitiy add people to my addr book

That normally is only done for notes you reply to. Sounds like something got added to your OE program. Basically, the only auto additions are covered here:

In Outlook Express, on the Tools menu, click Options.
On the Send tab, click Automatically put people I reply to in my Address Book.

I would check your system thoroughly for a worm or virus that is causing this to happen. It ain't normal.

As for the second question . . . that basically what the Operating Systems forum is about . . . also the software forum.
