outlook express 6 crashed = inbox is gone!

I resumed my pc from standby (suspend to ram) and when I checked email, the prog froze w/ the hourglass. I could never end the task, so I restarted the pc (took like 2 minutes cause it was still running), then when I ran OE again it gave me the welcome to OE email! I copied my email files out of the documents and settings folder and then tried to import them - All of my folders imported successfully except for the inbox! I have a 83 mb inbox.dbx file sitting there that's somehow not being loaded. Any suggestions PLEASE!? <edit> ok, that problem is fixed, now look at my last reply...</edit>

Does it give you any error message when you try to import?

You can try replacing your current inbox.dbx with this 83 MB one - that should work. 🙂

Sorry, AJPatel, that's way too easy - there's no way that would work. I have to do something idiotic like a MS conversion/inversion/rejuvenation/importation utility to try to get it back. Oh wait a second, what you said worked 🙂 Thanks! Why didn't I think of that, ROFL!

Smooth, real smooth.

This is what bugs me though: I checked the sent items for today and there are three Remote Assistance invitations! Two to a friend at his old email address that he no longer uses, and one to myself!? Needless to say, I didn't send them...
