Outlook Express 5.50 problem

I have been running OE 5.50 for a while and I was cleaning up
my system, getting rid of junk, etc.

I didn't attempt to change anything related to Outlook (Honest!)

(BTW I do tech support daily...)

The problem...

I have my OE setup with message list on top and message display
on the bottom half of the window.

For some reason I now get my message TEXT shown up as an
attachment... even when it is Plain Text.

I have looked at the RFC822 headers and the messages are
just plain test ala ye ole Jon Postal...
(wow that's a name from 25+ years ago)

Anyway, anyone have any good ideas?
