Outlook events in calender can become overdue?

So if I put "Science Exam" for a 2 hour slot on Monday, and I go and do it, when I get back, it tells me that it's overdue. This is almost like how a task works. I want it so that it'll just remind me and automatically delete the event when it is over.

Any help guys?

Set it up as an apoinment with a reminder. You can set the appointment to recure every week. Set the reminder to the desired time before hand that you wish to be reminded of the event.

I can do that much, but is there anyway to disable it telling me that I'm overdue when the event finishes? Googling didn't help.

So there's no way around the event acting like a task?

Because for the most part, I won't BE at the computer during the event. Surely someone had the same issue.

I'm 99% certain you can't do what you want, and here's why. Outlook needs to know that you saw the reminder. If I have a 10AM event, and set a reminder, even if I don't log in until 10:05 I'm going to get that reminder - that's the way it should work. If I don't tell Outlook to dismiss the reminder, it has no way of knowing I don't care any more. It's going to keep that reminder up until I dismiss it.

But if the even starts at say 2pm, is there any waya so that because I set the reminder to be an hour earlier, for it NOT to tell me it's overdue, because I DID click the early reminder?

You can set the reminder to pop up at any time, 2 hours before, 1 hour before, 5 minutes before. But if you do not dismiss that reminder it will sit there until you get back and as the time closes/passes the actual time of the event, it will change into overdue. Often times you will see an overdue reminder when you first open Outlook up for the day/week and you didn't have it open at all during the course of multiple events, those events will then pop up as overdue.

If you are utilizing Outlook all the time and dismiss reminders when you see them and before attending the event, you should never see an overdue reminder.
