Outlook auto collapsing folders?

I have a ton of folders under my Outlook inbox, many of which have subfolders.

If I drag a message from my inbox and hover over a folder for a few seconds, it automatically expands the subfolders and I can drop the message into one of them.

My question is, is there any way to tell outlook to auto collapse the folders back to the way they were after I drop the message?

This PIC might help me explain.

If I drag a message and hover over the "ZZ-Test" folder, it expands to reveal folder1, folder2, Folder3.

After I release the mouse button I'd like the top level folder to "snap" closed again.

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

You can click the the top level minus (-) sign to collapse them all at once; when you click on the top level plus (+) sign you will see all of the previously expanded folders are collapsed.

You mention using drag and drop method; I personally avoid it for the most part. I prefer to move messages, files, etc using the menu commands.

For Outlook
Edit | Move to Folder
In the Move Items window drill down to the destination folder.
Click OK button.

This method lessens the possibility of dropping files in the wrong location; which happens easily with drag and drop if one does not maintain constant pressure on the left mouse button while dragging the files.
