We're recently started migrating our email servers to IMAP. We have a mixed user base of webmail, thunderbird, mac mail, and outlook. Outlook gives us more headaches than anything. I have one user that imported her previously downloaded email back into her IMAP folders on the server using thunderbird on her Linux computer but when we configured her windows computer and outlook for IMAP it listed everything she had re-imported as having been received today. So now its showing up like she has received ~7000 emails this morning. Has anyone ever seen this or know of a way to fix it?

How did she do the mail import? Does Thunderbird show the same dates as Outlook?

This doesn't sound like an IMAP or Outlook problem. I've used Outlook many times to "push" email to an IMAP server before reinstalling, then redownloading the email after the installation. This sounds more like a server problem, or a Thunderbird problem, or even a user error problem.

She had previously downloaded the email into thunderbird via POP3, then her t-bird got converted to IMAP before outlook. She then did a drag-drop from her local folders in t-bird to her imap folders (on server) in t-bird and when we changed her outlook to IMAP it shows them having been received today.
