Outlook Accounts Passwords in w2k

I have several e-mail accounts using Microsoft outlook in windows 2000, the problem is that it never remembers the passwords, every time I check the 'save password' box is ticked but it still forets the passwords. I have tried going in through the accounts submenu and setting it up that way, but still it forgets, any ideas ?
