Outlook 365 on my Surface Pro question

I know there are quite a few with he surface pro tablets out there and I wanted to ask for pointers on using outlook 365 with the tablet. I imagine its the same thing on all windows 8 tablets, but I have the surface and that why I am referring to it. I have about 5 email accounts that I go through on a daily basis. on the tablet everything is so small to use the touch feature accurately and when using the pen I still get annoyed with having to select the email, then select inbox. Are there some preferences I can change to avoid this nuisance?
