I have a shortcut set up on my desktop with the URL of mailto: and a Shortcut key set to Ctrl + Alt + E. For years that's how I've started a new email when Outlook was running.
Prior to Outlook 2013 this shortcut started an email EXACTLY as if I had hit the NEW EMAIL button in Outlook where the cursor would start in the TO box. I became very use to immediately typing the name of the person I wanted to send the email to and then tabbing down thru subject line and then to the body of the email.
After recently updating to 2013 when using the mailto: shortcut the empty email is launched with the cursor blinking in the body of the email...it no longer begins in the TO box. The strange thing is that if you hit the NEW EMAIL button in Outlook 2013 it starts in the To box as it always has...it's just the shortcut where it's changed. I then have to use the mouse to move it back to the TO box. Not the end of the world...just a pain.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to change it? I know this is an obscure request.
Thanks
