Outlook 2007 randomly hangs

This is on the machine in my sig. I have Outlook 2007 running and find that it will hang and if I kill the outlook.exe process and try to restart it it immediately hangs so the only way to get it back is to reboot my computer. When I do that the "View" window for Inbox usually gets set to Off from Bottom.

Ideas?

If you look in Tools | Trust Center | Add-ins do you have any unusual add-ins listed? I've seen some screen capture utilities and some antivirus software which used plug-ins or add-ins for Outlook cause problems similar to the one you're reporting. You might disable them one-by-one to see if you can locate a culprit that way.

These are the addins under active:

Kaspersky Outlook addin
Microsoft outlook mobil service
spambayes
windows search email indexer

under inactive:
calander gadget for windows side show
microscoft access outlook add-in for data collections and publishing
Microsoft exhange unified messaging
microsoft office sharepoint server Colleague import add-in
microsoft vba for outlook addin

Did you use the "Go" button to open COM add-ins on that dialog so that you could uncheck some or all of the active add-ins for testing?

NOTE: In Vista (don't know about WinXP) you have to run Outlook as an admin to be able to do this.

I had my wife do it. I am going to uncheck some of those when I get home but I am pretty confident that it is Spambayes causing the problem.

Spambayes has always worked well. I disabled it and will see whether Outlook hangs over the next few days.
