Help me understand - from what I've read Outlook 2003 should allow you to have a 20GB .pst for messages alone. Prior versions allowed up to 2GB.

My boss just switched from Outlook Express to Outlook 2003 for the purpose of getting his Act! contacts synched into Outlook and then to his new phone. He has not received any new emails in his inbox since sometime yesterday and his .pst is at 2GB.

Why isn't he being allowed the 20GB limit? Do we have to do something special?

My boss found the first one, I think he's going through it right now. Thanks!

A pst file over 2GB is crazy no matter what. Just because Microsoft allows 20GB does not mean it is a good Idea..

The only people that are complacent about huge PST files are those that have never had a PST corrupt, or have never had to run the ScanPST tool to fix a messed up PST file. I would advise learning mail management and cleaning up once in a while. Archiving older messages to smaller more manageable "Static" pst file sizes...
