Outlook 2003 files?

I just bought a External Seagate Hard drive for back up reasons. It has an optional software that will backup files u choose whenever you choose.

My question to you guys is where I can find the important Outlook 2003 files that need to saved?

You want to backup your .PST files

They are usually in the hidden folder C:\Documents and Settings\UserName\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
of course you want to substitute your drive letter and username into that path.

Thanks for the help. I found the path you specified but I did not find any .pst files. There is a "Office Data File" named Outlook and some other smaller files.

Will the Office Data File store all the basic information?

Does Outlook save into these files everyday or do I have to export the file myself everyday if I need it backed up periodically?

You can use the 'import and export' feature of outlook on the file menu to export your messages to a .PST file. When it gets to the point of asking you where you want to save the file, just give it the drive you want to put it on.

I have done this several times to save my emails....
