Outlook 2003 exporting and importing, need help.

I have tried exporting email from outlook 2003 as differn't types, excel, Comma seperated values, tab seperated values and no matter what, when I import it into outlook the dates the messages were received does not get retained. It just says none. Is there a way to export email from outlook and retain the dates if so how do you do it?
