I need to know how to automatically add a person to my contacts folder when I get an email from them. I want to set this up in the rules wizard but I couldn't find a way to do it. I want outlook to look at the message on arrival and if it has the word "subscribe" in the subject add the sender of that email into my address book.

I can do everything but add the sender to my address book.

Anyone know how to do this.

Thanks

Adding incoming senders to your address book can be pretty dangerous, especially with the amount of spam and email worms are out there. Would it be a better solution to check the "Automatically put people I reply to in..." in Tools>Options>Email Preferences. Otherwise, when an email is opened (not just viewed in the preview frame), you can right-click any address and choose "Add to Contact List" from the popup menu.

If you're running a mailing list, which this sounds like, an even better solution would be to work with some true listserv-type software. This can be hosted on many mail servers (some places will do it for you for free or for a small fee...like listbot or if it's school-related in any way, many universities can/will host it through computing services or a similar dept.) or at a place like egroups. These groups will take care of administrivia and provide you with a single email address to send mail to your group.

Spam and attachments can also be controlled through listservs/listbot/egroups (minus the small advertisement placed at the bottom of emails that can be removed for a reasonable fee). All messages to the group can be moderated (no mail sent to list unless approved by admin), the group does not have to be listed in directories, and attachments (in egroups at least, which I'm most familiar with) can be entirely disallowed.
