outlook 2000 and exchange 5.5

i have a laptop with outlook 2k that is set to have offline access to mail from an exchange 5.5 server, so basically outlook syncs itself with exchange. now suppose i lose the info store on exchange and recreate one from scratch... will outlook try to dump all that email back into exchange when it is connected back on that network?

Warning: I've never actually USED Exchange 5.5.

It gets a bit messy....but if you want those emails back in your new Exchange store, you'll probably have to Export them to a .PST file, create a new Exchange Profile in Outlook, and then Import the .PST into the new profile.

If you DON'T want those emails in your new store, then just create a new (empty) Outlook Exchange Profile. Or, maybe just delete (or rename) the appropriate Outlook .OST file for your current Outlook Exchange Profile. That MIGHT work in your case. It's safer just to create a new Profile.
