In Outlook 12 there is already the ability to search through the different folders you are in, so I personally don't know if I really need 'Instant Search' and it's going to provide me anything better.

Is 'Instant Search' worth enabling?

What are the Pros and Cons?

THANKS

As the name implies, it offers as-you-type search results. In my experience, it works fantastically and presents results about 10 million times faster than previous Outlook versions' search. Coupled with Vista's search and virtual search folders, it makes for an efficient way of organizing related documents, files, emails, contacts, etc

I don't see why anyone wouldn't enable it.

Well I've heard that have been problems with it, and so far the default search seems to be working fine, and personally I don't need much of a search tool anyways, basically the most I search for are names as the relate to email addresses I've sent, to make sure I don't send a duplicate email again to the same person, that's about all for now, but anyhow I wanted to know what it has over the default search...

I have a 250MB limit on my mailbox, and I usually keep it below 100MB, but I have about 10GB worth of PST files. Instant search in Outlook is awesome. Without it, it would make things a lot harder.

With 10GB of mail, it isn't quite instant, but it still blows the regular search away by a long shot.

I should say that I recently unloaded one the biggest PST file (~7GB), since I don't need to have instant access to it. Outlook flies now.

I use instant search regularly on my outlook for old email/messages stored in other folder. It makes my life easier!
I think it is worth if you try it.
