Outdoor Speakers

Spring is a time in every man's heart to find a new set of outdoor speakers for the deck. I'd like to keep the price under $300 and even at that price point Bose, Klipsch, Polk etc all have entries. Based on experience what speakers would you recommend and why?

First I looked at these:

Then these:

And then ended up buying these:

They are the same basic speaker with a different tweeter..for half to 1/3 the price. Got them in late last week but haven't hung them up yet. Hooked them for a little bit indoors and they are decent for the $$. Good bass due to the port and fairly clear.

I don't see an overwhelming reason to spend a lot of money on outdoor speakers because it's an accoustic nightmare and they will just ultimately get destroyed by the environment. Do you have an eve or overhang you are going to be mounting them under?

Under an eave in a space between the french doors and the roof. It is fairly water protected but with any wind they will get wet. Because I live in the northern climes they will be taken inside once we can no longer use the deck.
