went there for the first time with the gf today. was all excited cuz i heard good things about the food there. well guess what. i still dont know what their food tastes like.

arrived at 9:10 pm.
seated by 9:30pm
ordered by 9:45 pm
sat around waiting drinking soda, eating their bread, goofin off with the gf (throwing paper balls at her)
waitress comes around 10:20, i ask her where's the food? she goes "oh u guys got medium-well right? that takes a while sometimes"
10:40 decided enuff was enuff...got up and got the manager
interestingly food arrives right b4 manager does @ 10:45pm. tell the manager this is BS...we've been waiting for an hour for our food....3 parties have come, eaten, and left in the time we've been waiting...so the waitress was BSing with us.
manager admitted that our food was given to another party and they ate it. atleast he admitted their mistake and gave us our food for free. but we decided to take it to go cuz we were no longger hungry.

i understand that mistakes happen and thats ok. but the waitress shouldve seen that we dont have our food after half and hour and told us the truth when i asked her the first time. suck big time cuz i was really looking forward to my steak dinner tonight. i hope they dock the money for our check from the waitresses pay. i dont blame anyone else but the waitrss for this mistake.

anyways, rant off

These things happen at places where the employees make minimum wage & haven't started shaving yet ;) You drew the short straw, looks like.

On the bright side, the Outback here in Ann Arbor hires some of the most attractive female waitstaff I've ever seen. :sun:

You were there with the Mrs, so it's probably a good thing that the waitress was ugly. ;)

I have never had a problem when I go to the OutBack SteakHouse. The staff is quick and quality always high. The manager is always roaming around chatting to the patrons and the waiters/waitress' are always fun and polite.

A great time all around.

My friend and I went to Outback once and there was this huge line to be seated, so they gave us a pager. After about 30 minutes and it not looking like we were going to be seated any time soon, we went next door to another restaurant...with the pager.

We put the pager in the middle of our table and were betting on when it would finally go off, and the staff at the other restaurant were also betting. It finally went off when we got our bill...

The Outback in Champaign, IL has some of the best service I've ever had. The Outback in Northridge, CA was just so-so the few times I went there.

Sorry your experience sucked. I'd write the corporate office about it.

Where I live, near Pittsburgh, it's not uncommon to have to wait up to two hours just to get in to a resteraunt and then it usually takes another hour to get your food. We have grown so accustomed to it that we just go and put our names down and then go shopping at the mall. Well, I should say my wife goes shopping and I just walk around and wonder why the girls of today didn't look like that when I was in school.

Fixed it for ya. :p

Outback is always swamped. I've never waited less than 20 minutes to be seated on a weekend evening.

Expect it, accept it, deal with it.

Now, the waitress? I'd leave her some choice presents on the table.
