Out of the loop: What current CPUs for a Iwill KK266

Hey all, I've been out of the motherboard/CPU loop for a while now and don't really know what's up. I was just wondering if someone could give me a quick rundown of what current CPUs the Iwill KK266 motherboard supports. I currently have an Athlon Thunderbird 1.2Ghz. Of course, the mobo just uses PC133 RAM. I'm debating whether I should just get a new motherboard and RAM and everything too, but not sure I really need all that much performance upgrade for how much gaming I do (no fps, mainly just the occasional RPG or RTS game). Thanks guys.

Well, the kk266 was a great mobo, but honestly you will see a HUGE performance jump once you go the newer chipsets + ddr. I would think this would help your situation more then throwing an xp into that mobo...

Oh boy, this again. I believe the highest clocked CPU GUARANTEED to work with the KK266 is the TBird 1.4GHz. Now some people have gotten some XPs to work while others haven't.

Do you have the KK266+ or plain KK266? I've heard that the KK266+ has a much better luck with XP processors. I'm sorry I can't give you a straight answer, when I upgraded my KK266, I just went with a TBird 1.4 because I didn't want to chance the CPU not working, and I'm happy with the performance. You can also head over to AMDMB and check their IWill forum. Search the board and you'll get alot of input. However I'll warn you now you'll get alot of different input. Some have gotten the XPs to work fine, while others needed to do some tricks, while others still never got it to work.
