Is anybody else sick and tired of going to a B&M store for something advertised , on the very day the ad came out, only to be told, sorry, they are all sold out. And get this... no rain check either.

This seems to be going on more and more with the major retailers.

For the record, Best Buy and Office Max do not have the cheap CD-W's they advertised today.

I'm mad as hell and ain't gonna take it anymore!!!!!!!:disgust:

I scored a $99 OUT THE DOOR Nomad Jukebox w/ Best Buy a few weeks ago... restocked after rebate expired - took the rebate off right in the store.

Stop your whining complain to the corporate offices of the store in question. I hate when the consumer takes it out on the people on the floor (What do you think we make the stuff in the back room)
Oh and btw brag and moan!!!!!

Ever read any Hot Deals posts? People here buy the stuff BEFORE it goes on sale. Therefore there is none when YOU get there. They go back when the sale is on and get the deal as per the offer. If they can't do that, they hide the stuff in the store so they can get the deal.

True, some deals are so plentiful, the HOT DEALERs here don't even bother. You can get those.

Most of these deals are promos and marketing. The function is to get people in the store. The stores are not particularly interested in selling these items.

Circuit City has always offered rainchecks on advertised items unless otherwise specified in the ad (usually on clearance items). If the rebate expires before the product comes in, they usually take the amount right off your purchase price. Yes, even on free after rebate items.

Try "reserving" the item ahead of time (the night before) by using BB.com and arranging for an in-store pickup. Worst case is that you'll know if the item's in stock or not the next day by checking your email.

Heh, work in retail?

This'll happen time to time. Especially when running ads right after the holiday season.

This is the case with Digital Cameras especially.

Canon A40 at Best Buy last week. Most stores were sold out before the ad went out on Christmas Day.

This week. Canon S30 w\ free Compact Flash card. 2 out of 3 stores in town have zero inventory as of Saturday evening.

You have someone like me in your face, you will remember it. The person whining and compaining to the corporate office will be YOU, not me. If enough people complained loudly enough instead of walking away like sheep, there would be far less "out of stock." And you, my friend, would make it happen.

Most states have laws requiring rainchecks to be issued when advertised products are out of stock unless limited quantities are noted in the ad...

You're kidding me, right? You expect the people working the floor to inititiate the ways the corporate office makes their policies? Employees are there because they want to work, they need the job - they aren't there to change the system. If *you* are the one who has a problem with something, it's *your* job to make your voice heard, not to have someone else speak FOR you.

I'm so very glad my girlfriend doesn't work for BestBuy anymore. Now she doesn't have to get forced into other people's vendettas and agendas.

Hopefully with the attention this piece of garbage has been getting, a lock is forthcoming.

I didn't see where he said anything abut taking it out on people on the floor, just said he was tired of it. and by the way complaining to corporate does what, uh huh! I f they are going to advertise it and they don't have it they could at least give a raincheck, that would be the decent thing to do. The old bait and switch!
btw, this should be in brag and moan
