"Out of Range" message at 1280x1024?

On my Viewsonic VA720 (17" LCD), and my old Banshee card, I get an "out of range" message whenever I try to set it to a resolution of 1280x1024..which is well within the range of the monitor, and is even the recommended resolution.

How can I fix this?

try to reduce the refresh rate.

Refresh rate should be 60 Hz for an LCD.

I do set it at 60hz.

Does the Banshee support 1280 x 1024?

Yes, it worked on my CRT.

Go into the display properties than advanced settings than monitor and check to make sure a monitor driver or equivalent is setup, sometimes that can help and check out the monitor settings and see if it is aritificially hiding your resolutions as not supported. Not having a driver in the monitor section can sometimes screw things up.

Yup, the driver for my monitor is there..

unlpug the cable and clean it out, then ty it again

sometimes setting TO 60hz can mess it up, if theres an option to, change it to "Adapter Default", under screen properties, settings, advanced, adapter tab. See if that helps

Okay I have it working now, just had to restart it after setting it to 1280x1024..other modes didn't require a restart.
