i just put together an new computer using my old athlon 1400 (ayhja) on a soyo dragon ultra with the intent of overclocking it using a thermalright ax-7 and whatever fan was necessary. just to get it started, i have it running at default speed with a no-name 2600 rpm fan, and it runs anywhere form 45-49c. (ambient case temp ~30c). i know this is safe, but imo leaves little headroom for overclocking. can anyone suggest anything? maybe i should reseat the proc? get a better (but still QUIET) fan (suggestions)? thanks folks.

Using thermal pad or AS2 ? Suggest u reseat the CPU+HSF combo & changed to a fan w/ bigger CFM. 45C w/ case temp of 30C...seems ok to me. Its not a great temp...its similar to AMD on stock fan.
