I ran across this awesome program ([link deleted]) that lets you download music from people who are running iTunes.
You run the program (a .jar file), and then click search. It will browse for every user on your network, that has un-protected shared folders. By simply doing a search where I am here, I found around 25,000 songs from multiple hosts.
This is not a P2P application that allows you to trade songs and such. It is just something that lets you download songs from one iTunes user, to a non-iTunes user.
A future update will allow you to access password protected shared folders.
