Little background info first. Daye (my wife) and I have been together for almost 5 years now and we wanted our wedding to be special and different, just like us! We narrowed down to two different locations, Thailand or New Zealand and after much debating, we went with a company in New Zealand that helps put together your wedding. They provide a celebrate, transportation, flowers, photographer, etc...

The actual wedding spot was The Remarkables just outside of Queenstown. We got ready in our hotel room and they took us to the airport where we got to ride in a helicopter up the the top of the mountain for the ceremony. It was beautiful beyond words and very peaceful, almost spiritual.

Enough blah blah blah, here are some pictures:

This is us at the airport with The Remarkables in the background.

Here we are about to get out of the helicopter.

Us getting married!

Us after the ceremony.

More of us just after the ceremony.

Pretty.

Keeping it real. She couldn't wear any nice shoes because of all the rocky terrain.

Cheers!

Awesome! Did you visit anywhere else in NZ?

Yes, we went to Queenstown first, then flew back to Auckland and to Waiheke Island.

We want to go back and spend all of our time in the south island just driving to different towns and camping.

Awesome! Very beautiful! Congratulations to both of you! Hope you have a lifetime of happiness together! :)

I spent the month of October in Nelson on the South Island. It is a gorgeous and spiritually connected place.

Going to Waiheke is like going to the the 50s, it's weird, but there is soooo much weed there.

I used to live in Auckland.

Congratulations OP.

You need to check out more of the North Island - yeah, Auckland is fvcking horrible, the sort of place I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, but there are some nice places on the North Island. I live in the Bay of Plenty (Tauranga) where we have Mount Maunganui, the Kaimai Ranges, McLarens Falls and loads of other beautiful places. There's also Wellington, which is a really cool city, Mount Ruapehu (gorgeous) and myriad other great places. The South Island is also a great place, I'm heading to live in Christchurch next year to study at Canterbury University :D

Yeah it was very strange. We stayed with a couple who has an extra room above their guest house and they turned it into a bed and breakfast. They warned us when we first arrived that it was stuck in the past. The island was very beautiful in places but mostly it was pretty dirty, unkempt place.

Nope, it was just on our top 5 places to go before we die list. One down, many to go!

Yea there are much nicer places in NZ. You really want to go off the beaten track if you have more time - both in the city and the outdoors. The best clubs and bars are found in the less touristy areas, and the best scenery is found when you're the only humans for miles around.

Hah! Auckland is the only thing there worth calling a 'city', it's the only place to get a decent job, earn decent money.

Also - K road. Say no more.

Doesn't surprise me that you, as an ex-Aucklander, thinks that. You pricks are all egocentric, ignorant fvcks. Wellington is a much nice city that Auckland and the wages there are very competitive. Besides which, money isn't everything and the very reason I still live in New Zealand is because of the amazing lifestyle here. I don't care about money. Really. And Auckland is a dirty, filthy, horrible city with no character, woeful traffic and the people there are ASSHOLES. Tauranga is a much nicer place.

I was just having a laugh man... and you go off on this crazy rant? And _I'm_ an asshole?

Just take a deep breath and calm down.
