"Our TVs are not compatible with the inputs."?

I'm staying in a Marriott and was shocked when I saw that the TV in the room actually had inputs on it. I tried to hook up my Wii and discovered that I couldn't get the tv to switch to a/v mode. When I called the front desk the guy says "Our TVs are not compatible with the inputs." Then why the $^% are they there in the first place? Grrrrr I've had strikers for about 2 weeks now and haven't gotten a chance to play it. Is it really that big of a deal for them to let me enjoy myself while I'm here?

All hail the great and allpowerful Google.

yes.

RandomFool, if you're on dial up or limited network connectivity, post the make/model and I can look it up for you. You might have to pull the TV out of the cabinet or away from the wall to see the manufacturer sticker or stamp.

Why the hell would they lock out the AV inputs?

To make you purchase a $15 movie from the inroom service I assume.

Don't they have that snazzy in-room multimedia thing?

I would suck if that is why they are locking you out

I'm pretty sure that's why. Luckly I've got my laptop and a pile of DVDs to thwart their attempt at selling me movies and whatever else it is they sell on there.

I, for one, am amused that you travel with a game console (esp. in addition to laptop). I suppose if the laptop lacks an input that a card could be added.

So you can't bring your own porn to watch

I do too. 😱 Either my Wii or my slim PS2. Both are small enough that they don't take up too much space in my carry-on. If I'm trying to fit all of my clothes in my carry-on, then it's just the laptop, no game system. 🙁

You need a universal remote...look up the fun you can do with that and hotel TV's. 🙂 The hotel I normally stay at during my regular business travel doesn't have any PPV porn...otherwise I'd have some fun.

That's a good idea...I'll hit target tonight after work and see what I can come up with.

As for bringing it with me. I travel for like 3 weeks at a time so if I didn't bring it I'd never have a chance to play. Not that I get to play it anyway since it doesn't work in any of the hotels.

Whaaa? And how long have been lugging it around since finding out that it won't work in hotels?

I've been lugging it for for a little over 2 months but it's only been useless for about 4 weeks. I'm dedicated.

This was posted from my Wii.

😀

Some of the best times I had were hooking my N64 up to a hotel TV and playing Goldeneye with a bunch of friends back in High School. (on a church sponsored ski trip thingy)

Yep, I picked up a universal remote and stumbled accross the Nintendo Wi-Fi USB Connector sitting in the bargain bin for 15 bucks. Thanks for all the help!
