The only people I see making this political are people who think like you. Republicans aren't the problem. Democrats aren't the problem. People like YOU are the problem. Everything you've ever posted on this board has been filled with partisanship and laced with hatred. So I'm going to be nice and simply respectfully ask you to shut up.

lol, people like you make me laugh. always wanting things to be roses and pretty. Well guess what - here in the real world things aren't. Politics is a contact sport - those who are nice - LOSE. I don't want to lose to a bunch of wishy washy centrists or leftist freaks. Just because some of us know what we believe and fight for it doesn't mean we are the "problem" - it just means you can't handle others disagreeing strongly with you. I fully accept that others disagree with Conservatism but I don't respect them unless they can back up their disagreement with something semi-rational. but we are quite far from the topic now.... I apologize.

Aw come on guys, leave Cad alone!

Same argument can be made for Oklahoma City not enough people killed or nobody important.

Challenger explosion, same

Ronald Regan assasination attempt, national tragedy!

But in first two cases the POTUS treated them as such. Presidential prerogative. Get over it.

And it's national tragedy because she's a member of Congress. Thats why.

Yes, people die and get murdered all the time but most of the time they aren't members of congress but I wouldn't be surprised if a leader of a community would give a speech, etc.

She represents a district in a state - not the nation. She's one of >500 that go to DC. Yes, it sucks....yadda yadda yadda, (have to put that every time for the morons).

But Cad; who in here thinks you are "Rational"?

Self aggrandizing, yes; rational...not so much.

Well I guess if you lack the desire to be part of the solution you may as well continue being part of the problem.

Character isn't created during a crisis, it's only exhibited.

Is this event a black swan or a sea change event?

no

Is the death of those people a national tragedy?

yes

It means something because the people decided it meant something. Sure one can argue that the 24 hour news cycle jumped on the story but I can recall the time before 24 news very well and these types of events had the same weight if not more since the news programs were so short and the narritve was establishes by print media...

This represents to many of us all that is wrong with the overheated rhetoric and hyperbole of our current new media world...While this kid was certifiably crazy its still a little early to interprit the motives and base our assertions by half truths and heresay.

What we know is that a mentally ill-criminally mentally ill at that-person didnt get the help they needed and the consequences of this were felt by innocents. In time I would like to debate weather or not decreased funding for the mentally ill or ignored responsibility by the parents is what led us to this place...

Its still to early to make any conclusions..

what I can at least say is the overheated rhetoric is detrimental to the discourse..and sometimes hate hidden behind rhetoric and hyperbole has consequence...

That you are so fearful to answer my little queries is answer enough...

uh, you can project fear all you want but that's not it. Please answer the question. I've answered the previous ones - you keep asking them - I'm trying to cut to the chase and ask what you think your point is. Do you have one?

So?

Those in Columbine represented a state, same with 9/11. What gives?

45 people were murdered in usa today. 515 people were killed in Usa auto accidents today. 1500 people died from cancer in usa today. etc. etc.

Sheep eat where they are herded.

"Only" about 102 people died in auto accidents today. About 37,000 per year.

Your murder rate is right.

I was quite capable of feeling outrage over the fact that one of our democratically elected officials was gunned down while meeting with her constituents without help from any media outlet...unless we are counting the fact that they reported it.

Didn't say that either, but keep trying to think you've "got" me.

You must have a cutoff somewhere. Care to share?

There's probably close to universal agreement when our country is attacked on a massive scale, Pearl Harbour, 9/11. Got another?

Ah, and here is the problem. Clearly I must accept the liberal's declaration and/or the media's declaration or I'm some heartless right winger(which is the narrative of the left anyway).

Clearly I'm not "enlightened" enough to see the pain of the nation over this...

Asking you a question makes your point? Try again junior. Please answer my question as I've answered 2 of yours and now want to know what you think your point is since you trotted out yet a third question along the same lines.

oh..hahaha....

oh you are a goldmine...

hahaha....
