Like I said in the other thread

blah blah blah blah

"BEIJING (Reuters) - Humans are stripping nature at an unprecedented rate and will need two planets' worth of natural resources every year by 2050 on current trends, the WWF conservation group said on Tuesday."

Well, by the time I'm 65 years old we'll be all out of resources. I've decided not to even save for retirement since the planet will be gone. Goodbye Earth...and goodbye mankind. We had a good run...

Edit: If this is a repost sorry I looked up "planet" and "resource(s)" and found nothing.

Remember, everything natural has a way to clean itself or recycle itself. It's just alittle hard when you have a virus (humans) eating away at you.

We are pretty much the cancer of Earth.

We are the Earth. Without us, the Earth has no meaning. It is simply a rock spinning towards a very long, very violent death.

How much mercury is in the entire earth's crust?

Eleventy billion pounds.

We will never run out of oil, it will just eventually become uneconomical mainly due to the lengths we have to go through to get it.

It's ok. Once the wound in the planet grows large enough, the planet will overcompensate and summon Weapon to destroy us all!

Seen the price of metal lately? Or lumber?

Take a college-level economics class. Then take some business classes. There's more to the cost of materials than environmentalistic-hysteria.

Yesterday someone said to me, "no civilization has ever survived on this planet".

I never thought of it that way before, but perhaps we can buck the trend.

Not to mention that there is plently of lumber to recylce - its just still cheaper to cut down trees.

You hold yourself in too high regard. We're just bags of water that happen to be on a rock spinning towards a very long, very violent death.

The current biodiversity on earth is the result of 3.5 million years of evolution. If you don't value that, then wtf do you value? Your Radeon X1950XT?

What is going to happen is a war and epidemics that will alleviate the needs? Overpopulation invariably leads to fighting over resources, which leads to war, which then leads to many deaths, which leads to a stabilization of population. Hopefully also, new technology will limit the waste, but war is coming. A global epidemic could also do it, and that would cause less destruction, but who knows these things can't really be controlled....

That theory asside, just because we have sentience doesn't make us special.
Give a beast opposable thumbs and a few pounds of flesh in it's head and suddenly it thinks it's more than a beast.

Nothing matters in this universe. And paradoxically enough, that's what matters the most.

I am more worry about the decreasing of clean water and somewhat of clean air.

We can substitute anything else but clean water and air.

My question is why is the WWF worrying about the environment? Shouldn't they be trying to figure out how much smack talk between wrestlers gets the most viewers?

I'm just kidding, I know its World Wildlife Fund.
