did you get him from a shelter, breeder, etc? Were looking into getting a puppy soon, after we get settled into our new house

A friend from work bred her dog for the first time to defray some of the cost of field training her chocolate lab. I looked in shelters but had trouble finding a dog that both my wife and I could agree on. I really love GSDs but my wife wanted something a little more docile and not 1 owner oriented.

Beautiful Chocolate lab....My sis has one and it is a very nice dog.

I should get some pics of my dog up there - he's almost 9, but his puppy pics are adorable.
