I came home and my roomate said our ceiling was leaking so I checked then called the managers. They just came and checked it out now they have to rip our upstair neighbor's kitchen cupboards out to stop a leak on their hot water heater.

Replace "subscriber" with "forums", chief.
 
Isn't there something you can put in your HOSTS file to automatically convert all subscriber.* entries to forums.*?

I have WinXP Pro, in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts I have the following entry but it doesn't work:

forums.anandtech.com subscriber.anandtech.com
