None taken, as it's not up to me. But between myself, friends, and co-workers who have moved on from other places over the past ~5 years or so, salary.com is ALWAYS high.

And the salary range for this position ($78k-$118k) actually matches up HIGHER then what salary.com says ($75k-$100k).

That's why nobody is biting. Salary.com is normally pretty dead on. A help desk manager, with the qualifications that you posted will bring that range 75 - 100 given a normal cost of living.

I just assumed you were talking yearly as it said salary, not hourly.

-edit- I know I come off as a know it all a-hole jerk sometimes. But I'm only doing it to try to help people further their career.

It's hourly afaik.

Although I still don't understand your logic as to why no one has responded (even though I wouldn't know if someone applied) If the salary range is dead on with salary.com, wouldn't that be a good thing?

yes, that would be a good thing and probably inline with market conditions/the requirements of the job. but you normally don't associate hourly rate with a professional position, IMHO. Especially when it says salary range. When I first read your post I immediately thought "WTF! smoking crack! that's what the staff makes, not the manager"

my logic is the use of the word salary and that range. an overwhelming majority wouldn't even consider it. If it's hourly then you are more in line.

Well, all the positions state it as "salary". Even medical staff. And we're all hourly. Being a hospital, they're pretty rigid in their compensation practices. A relative of mine is one of the Dr's, and he is also hourly. He does have some additional, more "adminstrative" duties he performs. And for those I think he gets a flat additional compensation amount for.
