Nearly two years later, and things seem to be going really well. We should be out of there in a couple of weeks, huh? We need to shift those troops to the next conquest.

Another lame old bush bashers. I am sure the goverment really considered removing our troops. This is why we wont be moving them out or Iraq. They've got simillar problems.

It isn't really about "Bush bashing." It's about the mess that is made when you create a power vacuum. We've done it to 2-going-on-10 countries in the last 2 years, and the results have not been good. These messes might never get cleaned up.

Don't you know anyone who discusses a problem is Bush-bashing?

We need a remake. The 2003 version of "Don't Worry, Be Happy" :D

The number of US troops is already dwindling, as have combat operations.

Although with recent attacks from resurgent taliban and Al-Qaeda fighters from Pakistan, we might see an increase in combat operations.

Yeah, it's funny how the article doesn't mention Bush ONE SINGLE TIME. Huh, but it MUST be about Bush-bashing, somehow. STFU.

"Because soldiers are targeting women and girls, many are staying indoors, especially in rural areas, making it impossible for them to attend school, go to work, or actively participate in the country's reconstruction."

They should go back to the taliban days where women were barred from school, work, even getting medical care. A man cant examine a woman, a woman cant be doctor.

The US has historically been the largest donor of aid to afghanistan in it's history and is still today.

From the section you quoted, it sounds like they already have gone back to the Taliban days. Women can't "attend school, go to work, or actively participate in the country's reconstruction." Doesn't sound like their lives have improved one bit.

I think what this is proving is that you can't kill off the top bad guys and throw money at a bad situation and expect it to fix itself. It takes a little more than that.
