We didn't even know the mother was pregnant! It was quite a surprise this morning to see a new baby out in the barn. He's a fainting goat. One eye has a patch of black over it; the opposite ear is all black. Really cute baby!

edit: My wife and I checked it out more closely... apparently our 14 year old son can't tell the difference between a girl and a boy.. :) Updated with pics my wife took tonight.

Meh - goats are a PITA. Mine got out of the fence while I was gone over christmas and ate off a bunch of seedlings that were finally starting to grow :|

Don't blame the goat for that! You should have locked it up better.

I don't know :p

It's mother and father are fainting goats, so, I assume so. But, since it's a recessive gene, there's probably a one in a million chance that some stray goat jumped our 5 foot fence, mated with our female, and jumped back over the fence, completely unnoticed by us.

awww that's so cute. Did you actually purposely purchased these goats knowing they were fainting goats?
