Lot of talk about no paper trail for auditing etc.

I was surprised to see that our machines (here in Western NC) actually recorded our vote on a paper strip that we could see to confirm our was recorded correctly.

I'm just curious if others also have this feature.

The problem is they shred the paper inside the machine and reprints with all GOP votes :(

We have ES&S touchscreen units without a paper verification.
However, we have a countywide (Sarasota-FL) ballot proposal to mandate a paper trail before the '08 elections.

I voted a big YES! :D

Do a search for "Hacking Democracy" to find out why the paper printouts are meaningless.

Better yet, tune in to HBO to watch the documentary of the same name.
