Ice in water is perfectly fine. The ice merely cools the water. I had my mother, an RN, verify this with her coworkers (fellow RN's and doctors).

The water had ice in it as the tap water was practically room temperature. I did not touch the burn directly to the ice in the bowl as well.

Now, 8 hours after the burn I was using almost all ice in the bowl because I was trying to numb the pain. The tissue on finger tips heals much faster than the rest of the body thus the pain was the only concern

i burned my two index fingers, and both middle fingers on ramen once. I found the thing that felt the best was ice cold MILK. the creamier the better, and by the way it really felt way GOOD
