Ever wake up at 3:30 AM with the (second) most excruciating pain you've ever experienced? If not, you just haven't lived yet. I got up at that time with what I thought was a cramp in the lower right part of my back. I sat up to crack my back thinking maybe it was a pinched nerve, cracking my back didn't do anything for it though. The pain just kept getting worse until finally i crawl down the hall and knock on my parents' bedroom door. Somehow they were immediately awake (must be a parent thing) asking what was wrong. They were thinking it was appendicitis (not good) and so we went to the hospital; Grand Srtand Regional because they didn't know the new one, which is much closer, was open yet. When we got there, they gave me the little orange wristband and I asked if I could get into the Pavilion with it (you know they don't pay that much attention to the wrist band), and then I remembered that the Pavilion is closed for the season. I got one of those cool gowns and they put me in a bed and an IV in my arm. As it is, I may have kidney stones! WTF?! "I'm 15, who gets kidney stones at 15?" was all I could think for the first few hours of my visit to the hospital, which lasted from about 4:00 - 6:15. So in that last 15 minutes I found out that lots of calcium can actually cause kidney stones. I'll give everyone three guess as to who drinks about half a gallon of milk a day... That's right, I do. So I have to drink lots of juice and such until I pass the stone(s), if that's it at all (they still aren't certain that's what it is yet). When I got back home at about 7:00 (we stopped at Food Lion to get juice and fruit and cereal etc. etc.), I went to bed again, only to awake at 1:00 this afternoon. I was supposed to compete in the Academic Team match against Conway today, but noooo, I have kidney stones and can't go to school. Normally, I would appreciate a vacation, but not one like this. On the bright side, the pain killers they gave me are narcotics... And even though the people that will be competing on the Academic Team today won't see this until they get back home, I wish the best of luck to all of you. And if anyone wants to wish me luck on a speedy recovery, I wouldn't mind. I should be in school tommorrow, see you guys then.

Kidney Stones - According to the holostic medicine are caused by a few things.

1) Too much salt in diet
2) Not enough liquids in diet
3) Not chewing food well enough
4) Holding in urine too much (or too long)

*Note: For really bad cases of kidney stones, try coughing when urinating. This coughing applies pressure on your bladder and forces out all the urine, not leaving any in to solidify.

Follow these rules and you should not get another kidney stone.

On a funny side, imagine this...

Fetts in bathroom - Cough, cough, peepee, cough cough

Psycho - Hey fetts you choking on something?

Fetts - No babe, just coughing to make sure I get all my urine out!!!

Psycho - OK, love you!!

Sorry, I just thought that was really funny!! LMAO.

Probably works though.

Kidney Stones are the most painful event a male may ever experience. Do a web search, as there is a plethora of information available about them.

I have dealt with them on two prior occasions, the last time I was given some smooth muscle relaxants (I believe it's called Urispas) and this allowed the little bastards to go on their merry way without further intervention.

As to you souls that have not had the pleasure of dealing with this malady, count yourselves as fortunate.

I work out a lot. When I first started, I used to get cramps relatively frequently. One night, I woke up in excruciating pain. Both of my biceps cramped up. I basically lay in bed with my arms across my chest waiting for the cramp to end. Cramps are always worse when they wake you up. ;)

A friend of mine had some kidney stones. They used sound waves on her to break them up. I do have kidney stones (stress), but so far I haven't had much to do with them.

We thought about the sound thing for awhile, but they say it feels like you've been kicked in the stomach about a dozen times, so I decided I would just try to pass it.
