Hockey players are tough mofos.
 
One of my earliest memories of childhood is riding to the hospital with some kid from my older brother's hockey team. The coach had skated over the kid's ear, all but severing it. There was blood on the blood on the blood on the ice. It was pretty gross.
 
Only hockey scar I have is on my right leg from breaking it below the knee during a fight. And the leg is 1" shorter as a result of that bad break during my teen years.
