OUCH that hurts! Extensor tendon sliding off my knuckle

During my jiu-jitsu class last night, I was working out on getting out of a triangle choke when somehow the tendon on my left hand middle finger moved off (possible detached) from my lower knuckle. When I make a fist you can see the tendon slide off to the left of the knuckle and it hurts like a bitch. Anyone ever had this happen to their tendon? Did it require surgery to fix or just a splint and time to heal?

I got really mad once and punched the wall, did that. I just left it like that for over half a year to get my hand in a closed fist form without pain. The knuckle is never the same though, it will swollen if I hit it with something. So my suggestion is to go see a doctor before your knuckle turns to shit.

I'm ever so thoroughly disappointed to have missed the shining beacon of wit that might have been observed had Mr Pickles gotten a proper night's sleep. Damn. Damn it all to hell.

Sorry CPA, I sorta did threadjack there. I'd definitely see a doc for that kind of injury. It may need surgery. I had a friend in high school who broke a finger and never went, and now it looks damn near like a < symbol. Fully functioning mitts are pretty damn important in my book.
