ouch! my palomino was just running at 76C..did it damage anything?

a power cable was caught in my hsf fan, preventing it from moving, so my xp1500+ was running at 76C for a while
could this have permanently damaged it?

Not likely, they should run just fine up to 90 degrees. Plus, AMD says you can safely run your XP at 70 degrees for sustained periods of time without damaging it.

Your probably fine, run Prime95 for a while and test it out, Ive had one hit 120C and it ran fine.

It's well within spec so I wouldn't worry about it.
Even running like that for sustained periods shouldnt cause too many problems...

Oh Im quite sure, and that was the socket temp so it was probably higher in reality... I touched the heatsink and it gave me a blister.
