I decided to close my case (Mid-tower) on a hot day, and.. the CPU temperature as reported by the on-board sensor was 60C !!! Granted, it's a 1.33 Ghz Athlon overclocked to 1.5 Ghz, but I have Arctic Silver 2 and a Glaciator cooling fan. Hmm.

I know AMD recommends up to 65C, but this was getting dangerously close ;)

I started getting BSOD's, errors and lockups about 61 or 62. I had to add a couple of 4 inchers to get rid of the heat.

Darrin, what is a 4-incher? :) I hope you're talking about fans and not some kinky dream you had.

hehe

4 inch fans.

Had to cut some holes. one in the top and one int the side. I was running them off of 12 volts but they were to freaking loud so now I'm running off of 7 volts. (red on 12v black on 5volt).

Darrin, dude, how do you cut a hole in a case?! Do you drill it, or..? My case is standard 1-mm steel, try to cut through that!

Also, isn't it dangerous to have a fan on the TOP of the case? You spill coffee, and it evenly distributes it inside the case :):)
