Other than k750i...

Mo0o

I know theres the w800 but it seems like you can update the firmware on the k750i to make it an equivalent. Other than k750i are there any other cellphones out right now or in the near future that will have 2mp or higher camera on them?

Also does the k750i have flash photography?

As far as form factor goes. Are these fatter/thicker than the k750i? And what about picture quality

Nokia 3250
Nokia 6265
Nokia 6270
Nokia 7380
Nokia N90
Samsung MM-A940
Samsung SCH-A970
Samsung SGH-D600
Samsung SPH-A800
Sharp TM-200
Sony K750/W800/D750

i have a tmobile MDA (i-mate k-jam) windows mobile phone and i love it a lot. it's basically a computer. it is larger than the k750i but the large screen and the features make up for the size.

if you're still thinking of getting the k750i, i'd wait a little longer because it willl be replaced by the k790.

as far as picture quality, the k750i has the best 2mp camera in the market at the moment.

I'd go with the Nokia 3250 myself, although it's not out yet. Supports EDGE, mini-SD cards, 2+MP digicam, everything the Sony 750 has plus some. It's about the same size too.

Seems like for the k750i it maybe be old but the pictures are the same quality w/ the same mp count. PLus it appears to be the smallest out of all of them. I'm really tempted to get something like this : http://www.puremobile.com/itemMatrix.as...xType=2&AGENT=PHONESCOOP&ic=100%2D2513

same quality as what?

i just got a k750i a month ago, and i've flashed it to a w800i. i must say i absolutely love this phone. great interface, great signal/sound quality, and with the flash to w800i and a 2gig memory card it has pretty much replaced my mp3 player as well.

mo0o, i used to be in the same boat as you. at first i wanted a k750i because it was the smallest all in one phone. then i started to take a look at some windows mobile phone. i looked for the smallest one i could find and it was the tmobile mda. it has all the features that the k750i plus a lot more. i think you should give it a look at your local tmobile store. the phone is actually quite small. 🙂

I'm not so familiar with this but is the tmobile phone GSM? I'm w/ cingular right now and i have to stick with their plan.

I think the camera has too many features for me personally. Ireally dontneed that much functionality as far as games etc. I would just like a decent camera since I never remember to bring my camera to anything so havingi t right there in my cellphone is good.

it's a gsm phone. are you on a contract with cingular, or do you just prefer cingular's service? either way, you'll need to buy an unlocked phone or unlock it yourself because cingular doesn't carry the k750i, no US carriers do.

the tmobile mda can be bought for $300 with a 2 year contract, but an unlocked version will be about $500. you save quite a lot by joining their plan as you can see.

My roommate goes back to pakistan every sumemr and last year he brought back a k750i that worked no problem with my simcard so that's the current course of action right now. I'm not sure if that means the phone is unlocked or not. He can get any phone there for abotu $200 cheaper than he can here so I figure with that discount it's agood deal for me. The tmobile phone is definitely attractive but i can't justify the extra price for the functionality that i probably wont use.

basically if the phone isn't branded by a wireless carrier (tmobile, cingular, etc), the phone is unlocked. i'd go for the k750i if you can get that discount.

also, the w800 and the k750i have the same exact hardware specs. that's why you can interchange the firmwares. however, the only benefit you gain from flashing to a w800 is the "walkman mode" (not sure if that's the real name). basically, it allows you to shut off phone mode and use only the mp3 mode, thus conserving battery.

ic ic, i guess flashing the firmware isn't for me then. no sense using that when I have my ipod. thanks for the help 🙂

k750 can be bought off buy.com for around $400 or less.
w800 and w810 have the SAME SIZE and weight as the k750.

I have a W800 phone I love it. Having a 2Megapixel camera everywhere I go is great. From what I have read the W800 is faster than the K750 as far as phone and menu speed goes. It can be flashed to a W800 firmware (this will most likely cost you money).
If you wait for the 810 to come out, it has quadband capabilty which adds the 850mhz band. The USA operates in the 1900 and 850 bands. If you have a quadband phone that has both of those bands, you will also likely get a better signal.

k750 and the w800 are the exact same phones with different software that can be flashed to either.

the k750i from pakistan, if it is actually $200 cheaper, is most definately black market. unlocked phones in india or pakistan cost exactly the same as here...it SHOULD be around $320 for an unlocked k750i.

if you don't mind black market though, great savings that way.

You forget the K750 dosen't have a walkman button either.
I would suggest looking into the Nokia 6270, it has miniSD and is quadband as well.
