Other PCs on network can't see my shared printer?

We have 3 PCs hooked up to a router here, and I have a printer hooked up to mine. I've always simply enabled sharing for the printer and that allowed everyone else to use it, but I just formatted, enabled sharing and yet no one else can see the printer. How do I fix this? It seems that I'm in the same workgroup because I'm able to access our server, so it's gotta be something else?

Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions.

General example - http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted

Windows 7 Work Network - http://www.onecomputerguy.com/windows7/windows7_sharing.htm

Vista File and Printer Sharing- http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb727037.aspx

Windows XP File Sharing - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;304040

Printer Sharing XP - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/networking/expert/honeycutt_july2.mspx

Windows Native Firewall setting for Sharing XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875357

Windows XP patch for Sharing with Vista (Not need for XP-SP3) - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922120

Sharing between Windows XP and Mac - http://www.realifewebdesigns.com/web-resources/mac-pc-file-share.asp

When done hard reboot all Network's computers and the Router.

Did you look through all of what Jack posted, with setting up windows firewall, allowing print sharing, and setting up windows printer/file sharing protocol ?

I think I just need to add the lcoal network to the trusted zone like he said, but could you please tell me how to do that in the COMODO free firewall?

I have never used that firewall, but there seems to be a pretty simple way to do it :

Go to the Firewall Tab and select "Trusted Networks"

Delete your trusted network.

Disconnect and then reconnect to your network.

Upon the Network popup. Simply tick the box at the bottom which will enable you to trust the entire network.

You might need to log off and back on after that but you shouldn't have any problems from there.

Alternatively, you can select "Stealth Ports Wizard" on the firewall tab and define the whole network as trusted from there.

P.S. You can also manually add the IP address of your printer to your Trusted Zone.
