Other differences between 2007WFP and 2005FPW?

Are there any other big difference between the 2007 and 2005 monitors other than HDMI support? Any reason I should just skip over a 2005 if I don't have any real interest in HDMI?

They both support HDMI in the form of DVI.

What the 2007 supports is HDCP, which may or may not be useful in connecting a cable box or Windows Vista PC.

The early 2007s have very bad banding issues.

I have yet to see an LCD that doesn't have banding to some extent. Now looking back on it, I personally think that that was blown out of proportion. My 2007FPW didn't have that bad of banding. In fact, some of the preset modes with my 20WMGX2 show worse banding than what I could use with the 2007FPW.

As far as differences go, the 2007FPW looks better and has a sexier bezel, what else do you want?

i think the 2407 was the one with the banding issues not the 2007. i would assume the 2007 would have an updated panel as the 2005 was out a while, but then again i think the 2005 had different panels on different serial numbers

Blasphemy!! Standard mode has no banding with NEC in every test I've tried.

I didn't say that Standard mode did. I said "some of the preset modes" did.

Aah, HDCP, that's what I meant. Unfortunately my infantile mind forgets which acronym went where...

Anyways, 2 questions for you then:

1: What were some of the later 2005 revision labels (I know the current 2007 is A02).

2: Where can the revision be found on the panel? Is it on one of the tags on the back?

*edit* 1000th post...w00t!

To check what panel you have in the 2007 you have to go in the service menu.

I just got my 2007wfp and it's made in mexico with a02 firmware and using the s-ips panel, no dead pixels either😀

The latest revision of the 2005FPW is A02. The revision can be found on the same sticker the serial number is on.
