Benadryl works well for me, but my allergies to pollen and that really aren't that bad.. the odd sneezing fit and stuffy nose. Allegra didn't do much for me.

Claritin D makes your heart race but Claritin does not? The only difference is the decongestant. Decongestants make your heart race?

Claritin D has pseudoephedrine, known as Sudafed.

Side effects of pseudoephedrine include stimulation of the nervous system leading to nervousness, restlessness, excitability, dizziness, headache, fear, anxiety, tremor, and even hallucinations and convulsions (seizures).

You can get generic Claritin at Costco for about $15 for 180 tabs (6 months worth.) Works great for many people with very few side effects. Benadryl and Actifed and other older allergy meds can make people really sleepy, or hyper, or feel all drugged up.

Oh, that's right. I'd forgotten that Claritin D was on the list of drugs that Oregon's considering to throw back behind the counter and require a prescription for. Anything with pseudoephedrine in it. They're doing it just because folks are making meth with it and the state can't figure out any better way of fighting the meth epidemic other than inconveniencing millions and millions of people, requiring them to take time out of their day (potentially losing money for missing work), scheduling a doctor visit, paying their insurance copay, and now most likely paying a higher price for the medicine itself because the purchase has to go through pharmacy technicians.

hey, i just said it made my heart race, not that it needed to be outlawed bc i dont like it :D though, i do know that is how many people think! stupid assholes! also, doesnt the allegra D have a shorter time of effectiveness? perhaps that is the decongestant part of it... one of the reasons i like claritin is bc it lasts a good 10 hrs before my allergies start to bother me again

Then they admit that the VAST majority of meth in our state is brought in from Mexico by illegal immigrants.

Sudafed Allergy is pretty good for me when they're acting up. I use to take Claritin when it was prescription and I've taken Allegra too when Claritin stopped working.
