I just got an x-gamer 5.1 to go with my DTT2500 speakers. I am not really seeing any change in the card. I was thinking it would output 5.1 sound for everything.

I can't even get it to work right with 4 speakers. During the speaker test it only has sound comming out of the 2 front speakers?? WTF..

ok, done with rant.

Let me know if anyone else has any experience with any of the 5.1 cards or more specifically this combo.

Just a friendly reminder: regardless of your OT in the topic post, this post belongs in General Hardware or Technical Support - this has absolutely nothing to do selling or buying things.

Weird, the x-gamer 5.1 is not designed to work in 5.1 mode with DTT2500. You need DTT 2200 or DTT 3500 digital to make the x-gamer 5.1 work in 5.1 mode. The x-gamer 5.1 has the spdif out for 5.1 speaker setup and this setup only supports the dtt2200 and the dtt3500 speakers system.

The DTT 2500 can give you 5.1 speaker mode only when attached to the DVD decoder card or when hooked up to the Digital DIN connector on the back of the daughter card.

If you early version of Sound Blaster Live, or the sound blaster platinum, then you can hook up the dtt2500 to the daughter card for your crystal clear 5.1 surround sound output.

But for the x-gamer 5.1, platinum 5.1 or the mp3+ 5.1 you need the DTT2200 or the DTT 3500 to connect it directly on the back of these cards.

if you are not sure still, check the Creative's website. They only list the DTT2200 and the DTT3500 digital as a perfect companion for the 5.1 card series.

The DTT2200 is selling for $99 bucks while the DTT 3500 is selling for $266 bucks on shopper.com.

Hoep this helps. :)

egh, that means that i just bought these speakers for nothing. It really doesn't make sense to me because the 3500 speakers connect the same exact way the 2500 speakers do. Both are supposed to support 5.1 digital through the digital DIN connection.

I bought the 2500 speakers because i didn't have a need for a remote or spending the extra cash for the feature i didn't need. I really didn't think buying last years "digital" model would hurt.
